How Long Does It Take To Get Tax Refund Back

For those who are anticipating a Tax Refund this year – the biggest question on their mind is…

How long does it take to get tax refund back?

That’s what I want to know – tough times like these call for quick action with a quick return.

According to the IRS a person has got 2 options for receiving their refund -

  • Paper check
  • Direct Deposit

If you go the “old fashioned” way of the paper check you should get your refund check within six weeks from the received date – way too slow for me!

The preferred method & the quickest way to get your tax refund back is Direct Deposit to your savings or checking account. You’ll get your refund back within 3-weeks after the acknowledgment date.

To check on your refund, go to “Where’s My Refund” or call the Refund Hotline at (800) 829-1954. Please allow 4 weeks after you mail your return before calling this automated system. When you call, you will need to provide your Social Security number, your filing status, and the exact whole dollar amount of the refund shown on your return. There are several reasons for delayed refunds.

AVOID using a Rapid Anticipation Loan or RAL!!!

This is a high-interest rate, short-term loan that takes money out of your pocket! Sometimes the interest rate is as high as 250% ($1,000 refund – minus a $30 e-file fee and $59 loan fee).

Chiropractor Frankfort Il

Your local Chiropractor in Frankfort, Illinois (IL) can be found at New Horizons Family Chiropractic – located next to Cardinal Fitness in Frankfort just west of Harlem Avenue on Rt. 30 (Lincoln Highway).

Dr. Rick Brescia is from Frankfort and graduated from Lincolnway High school – He’s returned home to do what he loves to do best…helping people enjoy a higher quality of life through a healthier lifestyle –New Horizons Family Chiropractic mission statement sums it up best:

“Enhancing lives to new levels of health by the Maximization of the body’s inborn potential.”

One of the ways this local chiropractor is reaching out to the community is through his “Health Talks.” These are free seminars hosted by Dr. Rick & New Horizons Family Chiropractic designed to educate people on Up-to-Date Health topics that can dramatically improve their quality of life.  Currently he’s conducting a “Health Talk” on Optimal Health – explaining how subluxation (a misalignment of the spinal vertebra) can interfere with the body’s ability to function at 100% of its capabilities. Being 100% healthy isn’t just about eating right, exercise, and spiritual fitness – it also includes the nervous system functioning properly.

Dr. Rick speaks with passion & excitement when he talks about Chiropractic care and maximizing people’s lives.

This passion for people has driven Dr. Rick to specialize in a type  of Chiropractic Care called the Gonstead System. On top of the extensive curriculum taken through Palmer Chiropractic College, he took an additional 100 Seminar Hours outside of school to be able to provide the Gonstead System of care exclusively to his clients.

One of the benefits of this system is on every visit you’ll be checked for nerve pressure – if pressure is found and an adjustment is needed you’ll get an adjustment – if no pressure is found you won’t get an adjustment.

You only get adjustments as needed!

Right now New Horizons Family Chiropractic is offering a SPECIAL to kick off 2009 – You get an entire new patient exam for only $17 – that’s right $17 dollars – you’ll get:

  • Full spine x-rays
  • Computerized nerve scans
  • Posture analysis
  • Personal consultation with Dr. Rick
  • And much more –

This could easily cost you $275, but if you take advantage of this fantastic offer before January 31 it will only cost you $17.

Tax Preparation Time

It’s that time of year again…Tax Time – don’t put off getting ready for it, because before you know it April 15th will be here.

Your Local Accountant, CPA, or Tax Preparer in Frankfort, New Lenox, or Mokena is ready to provide you up-to-date Tax Advice & Tax Preparaton Service.

Look through our list of providers and don’t pay any more in taxes than you have to…

The IRS has just released the Top Ten Tax Time Tips:

1. Gather your records…now! It’s never too early to start getting together any documents or forms you’ll need when filing your taxes: receipts, canceled checks, and other documents that support an item of income or a deduction you’re taking on your return. Also, be on the lookout for W-2s and 1099s, coming soon from your employer.

2. Find your forms. Whether you file a 1040 or 1040-EZ, you can download all IRS forms and publications on our Web site, IRS.gov.

3. Do a little research. Check out Publication 17 on IRS.gov. It’s a comprehensive collection of information for taxpayers highlighting everything you’ll need to know when filing your return. Review Pub 17 to ensure you’re taking all credits and deductions for which you’re eligible.

4. Think ahead to how you’ll file. Will you prepare your return yourself or go to a preparer? Do you qualify to file at no cost using Free File on IRS.gov? Are you eligible for free help at an IRS office or volunteer site? Will you purchase tax preparation software or file online? There are many things to consider. So, give yourself time to weigh them all and find the option that best suits your needs.

5. Take your time. Rushing to get your return filed increases the chance you will make a mistake and not catch it.

6. Double-check your return. Mistakes will slow down the processing of your return. In particular, make sure all the Social Security Numbers and math calculations are correct as these are the most common errors made by taxpayers.

7. Consider e-file. When you file electronically, the computer will handle the math calculations for you, and you will get your refund in about half the time it takes when you file a paper return.

8. Think about Direct Deposit. If you elect to have your refund directly deposited into your bank account, you’ll receive it faster than waiting for a check by mail.

9. Visit IRS.gov often. The official IRS Web site is a great place to find everything you’ll need to file your tax return: forms, tips, FAQs and updates on tax law changes.

10. Relax. There’s no need to panic. If you run into a problem, remember the IRS is here to help. Try IRS.gov or call our customer service number at 800-829-1040.

Find a Chiropractor in New Lenox, Mokena, or Frankfort

Looking to find a Chiropractor in the New Lenox, Mokena, & Frankfort Illinois area?

Use the steps outlined below to assist you in making a wise decision:

  1. Network: Ask your family, friends, and associates if they’re currently seeing a chiropractor or have seen one in the past. If they don’t mind sharing, ask them what they thought of their visit and the reason they went to a chiropractor.
  2. Search Online:  Use one of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, or MSN to search for a local chiropractor online. The quickest way to pull up reliable information is to type in your location and the word chiropractor for instance, New Lenox Chiropractor or Chiropractor in Frankfort.
  3. Search Offline: Pull out and dust off that old yellow book and find some local chiropractors that interest you (you should be using steps 2 & 3 to create a list of options).
  4. Research: Visit the websites of those on your list. If they don’t have a website move them to the bottom of  your list. For the ones that do have a website spend some time reading through the available information: services provided, credentials, testimonies, location, hours of service, etc.
  5. Appointment Time: Call the chiropractors that offer a FREE consultation first! Set up an initial appointment with at least 3 different clinics. Ask them if they accept insurance and what do you need to bring to your appointment.
  6. Visit Research: During your visit to each clinic make note of the following: What’s the professional image of the clinic? Neat, Clean, Dirty, Cluttered? How courteous is the staff? What’s the waiting area like? Comfortable chairs, TV’s, etc. Are there informative brochures available to take home with you?
  7. Ask the Doctor:  Where did he or she go to school? Are they licensed? Certified? Bonded?

Chiropractors must endure a rigorous education program that leads to their licensing and awarding of their Doctor. Mandated minimum requirements are ninety hours of undergraduate education just as a prerequisite to enter chiropractic school and then a full-time schedule resulting in at least 4200 instructional hours. There are other requirements (national, state, and/or local) that must be met based on where the Chiropractor wants to work. The Council on Chiropractic Education accredits schools in the U.S. Currently there are eighteen accredited Doctor of Chiropractic programs in the United States.

Take note of any claims the chiropractor may make about how they can treat you and what they can do with regards to your health. If they make any outrageous claims like how their treatments can cure cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. politely excuse yourself and scratch that one off your list.

These steps are by no means exhaustive in their approach and I’m sure there are more you or others can think of to take. However, they’re a start and if followed can assist you in making an educated decision when trying to find a chiropractor in the New Lenox, Mokena, & Frankfort Illinois area.

A local New Lenox Chiropractor or one in the surrounding communities can provide you with expert one-on-one Quality Care!
